  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 (32 oz) cartons chicken broth
  • 2 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 1 (28 oz) package frozen cheese tortellini
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced
  • Garnish (optional): grated or shredded parmesan cheese

Instructions
